FoxHunter 250W Electric Cement Mixer Review

The Foxhunter  240v 250w portable cement mixer is the second most expensive on our top 5 list of cement mixers, where it ranked at number 2 on our list. If you have read our review on the Foxhunter 650w model then you will soon realise that this model is just the baby brother.

This one has an RRP of £150, but we have seen several sites on line, where you get this mixer for around £125 or even less. This model runs off 240v and fairly good 250w motor that powers through good sizes of mix with relative ease.

Its not every day that you will need to use a cement mixer. You will however probably use it several times over the years, and it is always a handy thing to have. We would advise not to buy a cheap and cheerful one, simply because you wont use it very often.

If you are thinking of buying a mixer, then obviously you need it, and really they are a pretty good investment. More importantly though, you will want it to be able to do the job.

This one has a 70l drum so its not massive and has a good, wide 284 mm mouth. Its not the biggest we have seen but should be good enough for most DIY jobs. The cheaper you go, the less you will get. A quality model like this will always have a good resale value, if you want to sell it on after you have had your use out of it.

Be warned though, if you have your own cement mixer you will soon have a queue of family and friends that all need the "lend" of it for a "the odd job or two"

Hire or buy your Cement Mixer?

Our Verdict on the FoxHunter 250w Cement Mixer

80 %
OUR RATING

This is at an affordable price, from a good brand and we think it is good value for money. Its ideal for small to medium jobs and you will probably be able to mix two or three large bucket loads at a time.

This is a very viable alternative to renting out an expensive mixer from a hire company and ending up keeping it three times as long as you originally expected !

As we mentioned don't buy this one for the bigger jobs, but it is ideal for mixing cement for fence posts, or for doing repairs. For the bigger jobs, buy one with a larger capacity of drum size.

This is a mixer which is ideal for the DIY enthusiast and I think its very well priced, for what you get. It will certainly last, and open up a whole range of new tasks for you.

  1. Good article, I do carry a pocket wenger swiss army knife in my mini-survival kit. If I go out and do bushcrafting it is always with a fixed blade and fixed backup blade. I also had a near accident with a folding knive, then decided folding knives are not for bushcrafting. In my edc I have a small folder for food or open boxes.
