Makita DHP484Z Review

Thanks for taking your time to read our review of the Makita DHP484Z 18V Li-ion Brushless Combi Drill.  Below we have included a full and detailed review of this highly popular choice for UK buyers.

Combi drills are becoming very popular as they will drill and have a hammer action for masonry. Maikta are well know for this type of tool and this model is one of their best sellers.

Our Verdict on the Makita DHP484Z

I would say this combi drill is at the very high end of the mid ranged models or just creeping into the highest price bracket.

It's really everything you are likely to need in this type of drill and maybe a bit more. All the features are there and the brushless motor is a dream.

I would definitely have this drill myself and think it is a really good investmet for anybody. There is no real reason that you would need to spend any more than this.

Makita DHP484Z - Key Features

Brushless Motor

The brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and rpm to the changing demand of the application, and eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and efficiently for longer life.

Most tradesmen will agree that the tools with this type of brushless motors are well worth spending that bit extra on.

Drilling Capacity

Maximum in wood 38 mm, steel 13 mm, concrete 13 mm

These are the sort of depths you would expect with a drill of this quality. You should be able to use this model for virtually any job and its unlikely you would ever need to have any greater capacity.

That being said, these figures are only a guideline and I have personally used this drill to go through a block wall to fit a vent for a tumble drier.

A very quick video review

We have looked over all the video reviews and found this great short presentation on this Makita power tool. It gives you an instant idea of what to expect as well as telling you all the features and spec in and easy to understand format.

I hope you enjoy watching it as I always think its much better to see a tool in action rather than just reading about it or seeing pictures. This guy is particularly good at explaining the features of the drill and he is well known for demonstrating Makita tools.
