Best Masonry Saw Reviews

Thanks for taking your time to read our reviews on the best masonry saws that are currently available on the United Kingdom marketplace. You can get hand held saws for this job but they require a serious amount of effort!

These are also known as disc cutters and are the beasts of the saw world. They can be used to cut stone, brick, paving stones and even reinforced concrete. These will either be powered by electric or by a petrol engine.

They use a high torque motor along with a diamond blade to do their work. They will have a safety guard for very good reasons which should never be removed. If you plan on doing any work with paving stones, window installation or general landscaping then one of these will be an invaluable asset.

Believe it or not, there is actually quite a large range of masonry hand saws available but we cover them in a different article.

Just below you will see our top 5 list of masonry saws. However, we also know you are busy, so if you don't have time to read our full review, we would highly recommend the Evolution Power Tools Electric Disc Cutter 2000 W, 110 V, 305 mm.

In Conclusion

These masonry saws really come in two types and that shows up blatantly in price and quality. I would say that the electric models will do a reasonable job but in reality they are rarely used by professional trades people unless its for a small job or if they cant get at an area with the bulkier petrol saw.

That being said the electric models offer great value and will do a very good job if you aren't doing a massive amount of cutting. The Makita elctric model is £650 so you can be sure it will be top quality. I would say its closer to the performance of a petrol saw than its other, cheaper, electric rivals.

We have put the Evolution model at the top of our ratings because of its value for money. It works extremely well and we couldn't fault it. Long term though, you really only need to look at the prices and you can work out yourself which model is the best!

If you only have a small job to do the there are of course Masonry Hand Saws available.

A very quick video review

We have looked over all the video reviews and found this great short presentation on these heavy duty power tools. It gives you an instant idea of what to expect as well as telling you all the features and spec in and easy to understand format.

I hope you enjoy watching it as I always think its much better to see a tool in action rather than just reading about it or seeing pictures. This guy is particularly good at explaining the features of the saw and he is well known for demonstrating tools.

Hopefully you have found this information on masonry saws useful.
