This top of the range model is smooth, powerful and is probably everything you could ever need in a circular saw. If you want the best in the range then this is it. When you compare it to the best selling Makita DHS680Z 18V or the Dewalt DCS391N-XJ X 18 V, it 's bigger and cuts deeper, though it's a bit more expensive.
Most of the other models on the market are 165mm blades so really this is a big machine!

This is the more popular size of circular saw and I guess it's more fair to have a comparison with other manufacturers with this model. So like for like, with Makita and Dewalt, you will find this model is a bit more expensive but that's offset by the Milwaukee batteries being cheaper.
All in all they are pretty similar in price, performance and quality so really it's down to personal preference but if you stick to one range of tools that use the same battery then the choice will be already made for you. You won't go wrong with any of these makers.

If you aren't intending to use this every day or at least on a regular basis then this entry level is perfectly good. It will cut nearly as deep as any other 165mm bladed saw, it's just a but less powerful. Definitely worth the money for any DIY or home user, it's still a top quality tool.

It's often cheaper to buy these sort of tools in a package with battery and charger included. If you are just staring out with Milwaukee tools then this is the way to go
