As I mentioned in the introduction, this model came out number six on our list of the top 10 corded angle grinders. Buyers loved this product and believe that its great value for more. Its nice and light so its easy to use for the beginners
It is one of the cheaper units that we have reviewed and there is no doubt it is excellent value for money. If you aren't intending to use this tool every day or just want it for the occasional job then this angle grinder is ideal.
It comes with just one stone and 4 metal cutting blades so this will do you for some time. The housing of the motor, has also been sealed which will prevent any dust from getting inside.
With an angle grinder, safety is very important and this model comes with a good disc guard and that is essential with this type of powerful tool. Also the switch can be locked in for long periods of use.
It is hard to find anything bad to say about this angle grinder other than it is at the cheaper end of the market and it has a lot more power than some of the much more expensive models that are available. Buyers also thought it was very well balanced a very easy to use.
What Buyers Say About the BLACK+DECKER KG115A5-GB
Buyers bought this to use on a whole range of tasks. These included:
- Mortar raking
- Cutting Wood & Metal
- Sanding and Smoothing Metal and Welds
I have listed below a summary of the key features that buyers mentioned and appreciated.
Value for money
Without exception buyers said this angle grinder was a top quality piece of machinery and every single review is either 4 or 5 stars, there was only one lower ratings and it looks like that was a mistake as the comment was "Very easy to handle". At around £30 the reviews are excellent
When a motor is continually over working, then they do tend to die out very quickly. This has a good strength 750 watt motor, so it rarely needs to work at full capacity to get a job done.
That means it can be used regularly, and will be able to handle all of the smaller jobs and almost all of the larger jobs. This unit seems most popular with the DIY enthusiast and I guess that's the market it is aimed at.
Quick and Simple Disc Changing
Buyers loved the quick change spindle so that changing discs on the grinder or making adjustments is extremely easy and fast. We all hate fiddly mechanisms that take time to adjust and keep us back from the job in hand so this is a very user friendly feature.
Very Powerful
Angle grinders are dangerous tools, and exceptionally dangerous in the wrong hands. This Black+Decker model is not an exception. This is a powerful tool so always exercise care when using it though many buyers believed it was one of the best balanced units they have used.
Low on Vibration
All users also said that this one did not vibrate a lot as the rotating wheel seemed to work against any vibration.
Our Conclusion on the BLACK+DECKER KG115A5-GB Angle Grinder
Well it came out at number 6 on our list of top ten angle grinders. The buyer reviews confirm why that would be the case. There are of course, no bad grinders in our top ten and any unit reviewing over 90% has to get serious consideration.
You don't always need to pay top price for a tool and all buyers are saying that this is not a lightweight piece of kit by any means. It feels sturdy to use and will take on most jobs
As it is our number six choice, the team here at Tool Advice would of course highly recommend this model to anyone, who wants to own a good grinder at a reasonable price, that is built to last. If however this is not the one for you, then why not check out our top 10 list of angle grinders, by clicking here.
In our opinion, the only thing that may put some buyers off is the lower price point but I can assure you that this is not a cheap and cheerful tool. It's a well put together grinder from a reputable maker that could last you for years.
