Power
The Dewalt is a very powerful 240V 1050W planer , delivering up to 13,500 rpm and is able to plane 4mm. This is about as deep a cut as you will find in any planer on the market.
The massive 1050W motor is designed to deliver rapid performance without being too heavy or bulky to handle easily.
Planing
The D26500k planer delivers fast stock removal at a width of 82mm and will remove 4mm at a time. 82mm is a pretty standard size and you wouldn't really need anything wider than this. It's ideal for trimming doors and other surfaces leaving a very smooth finish.
There are 3 chamfering grooves in the front shoe making precision fitting jobs very easy and 4mm is about as good as it gets.
Dust extraction
The dust bag catches 90% of the dust and is easy and clean to empty. The bag is a bit bulky to carry around but its totally worth the hassle as there is very little cleaning up to be done after.
You can also connect this directly into a vacuum and I much prefer this option, especially as Dewalt do not supply the bag with this model and you would have to buy it seperately. If you are going to connect a vac to one of these machines we don't recommend that you use a home version. It's always best to have a good quality HD shop vacuum.

Absolutely brilliant tool that is getting some of the best reviews and ratings that I have ever seen. There have been hundreds of buyers and this is really a 10 out of 10 tool for me.
It will do the job as well or probably better than any other planer and is really a pleasure to work with. Light, flexible and has plenty of power.
