Having completed around 20 hours of detailed research, we believe the best cordless drill for small hands is the Bosch EasyDrill 12 Volt cordless drill/driver. This is a compact, lightweight drill and has a first class ergonomic grip design, making it much easier to hold, than many other models we found. Some people still prefer the corded drill models but really cordless is totally taking over now and they are fully powerful enough for all jobs.
We put a lot of research into all of our articles, and where possible we try and solve problems that people come across every day.
There are quite literally hundreds of cordless drills, but hopefully the information you find here will help point you in the right direction.

We do a more detailed review of the Bosch Easydrill below, and have included a couple of other drill recommendations, in case you prefer a different option. The Easydrill will do about 80% of the jobs around the home, but we have included two other options, that you may also find useful. Also I have recently bought a right angle drill that's very useful for getting into awkward areas. It's well worth reading a bit more about them.
Hand Size and Grip Size
- The average size for a man's hand is 7.6 inches long and 3.5 inches wide
- The average size for a woman's hand is 6.8 inches long and 3.1 inches wide
In terms of using tools, manufacturers design their tool grips around these standard sizes. So if your hands happen to be bigger, or smaller, then a tool such as a cordless drill is not going to have the perfect size fit for all sizes of hands, or how we grip things.
Average Adult Grip Size
This is certainly not a measurement that is talked about a lot. We think this is a handy guide though to figure out the ideal grip. Measure the length of your hand and multiply this by 0.197. That will give you a figure.
I measured my wife's hand which is 6.5" long. I multiplied this by 0.197 and got 1.2805. So the ideal diameter for a tool such as a hammer or a drill would be about 1.3 inches.
Even with that information, you can't really check it out unless you are holding the tool, and have a measuring tape. It is easier, when it comes to buying a cordless drill, to opt for a small compact and lightweight option. That will be easier to grip for anyone with small hands.
The good news is that all cordless drills actually come as drill/drivers so they can both drill and also be used as a screwdriver to drive in and remove screws.

More Helpful Information
Hopefully we have provided enough information to let you make a better buying decision. We have included just below some more cordless drill basic buying tips.
Main Benefits:
Let the Cordless Drill do the work
There is a very natural tendency to force or push really hard on a drill when trying to go through a harder material such as brick or block. There really is no need to do that as if you have a sharp masonry drill bit, and a high powered cordless drill, it will do the work.
Avoid using blunt drill bits as those are useless, and they will make your drill do more work that they should be doing.
