For instance the 1.5m Gutster bar is easily the best tool I have ever used for lifting floorboards. It just depends what job you are going to do, though most of them are very versatile.
The basic crowbars are the digging bar, the pry bar, and the wrecking bar and really anything else is just a variation of these three types.
One of the differences outside of type is then, size or length. Obviously the longer your crowbar, the more force it will be able to apply to the job in hand.
There can be different types of metal used to make a particular bar, though most are carbon steel or titanium. Unfortunately titanium is very expensive and these types of bars end up being pretty specialized.
Lastly, crowbars can be broken into their shapes. These are the Cylindrical, Hexagonal, I-Beam, and Oval. The standard shepherds hook or goose neck, style is the most common crowbar by far but the newer, flat style bars are much more versatile and easy to use.
